With anticipation building for the Boston Run and Outdoor Expo (BRO) 2026, we sat down with Stephen Morgan, the Event Director, to discuss what’s coming in March next year and why this event is fast becoming a must-attend in the running, outdoor, and wellness communities.
Q1: Tell us—what is Boston Run & Outdoor Expo 2026 all about?
Stephen Morgan: The Boston Run and Outdoor Expo is New England’s go-to hangout for runners, hikers, and outdoor lovers and now kicking things up a notch at the awesome Gillette Stadium in March 2026. It’s a packed weekend all about the latest gear and products, pro tips, and good vibes for anyone who just loves getting outside and moving. We’re building a space where over 250 top brands, grassroots communities, elite athletes and Olympians, and over 12,000 New England explorers all meet to share, learn, and move. The expo covers just about everything you can do outdoors including hiking, running, trail running, mountain biking, swimming, camping, paddle sports, fishing, outdoor cooking, climbing, adventure travel and more. We bring communities together to enjoy a packed weekend of inspiration, shopping and live action and entertainment.
Q2: What makes the March 2026 event special?
Stephen: Next year is an exciting time for us as we move the event to the world-class venue, The Gillette Stadium. The new venue brings so much opportunity for the exhibitors and visitors – it offers excellent transport links for a wider audience in New England plus free parking! With the indoor and outdoor space, we can grow the expo year on year and deliver more live activations for the community. The events were collocated for the first time this year and after such a successful weekend in New England, we have decided to hold the run show and the outdoor expo together again. We scored 35 NPS for Outdoor Expo and 26 for Run visitors (event standard is 11). 72% said they want to return to the expo in 2026 because they loved the collocation. The timing of these events is strategically placed so that visitors can buy new products, gear, apparel, nutrition, get advice and tips before the Spring/Summer season for runners and camping trips. We are building the line-up of brands, an incredible agenda of guest speakers and Olympic athletes and live features so there is plenty for visitors to do.
Q3: Who is the BRO 2026 Expo designed for?
Stephen: Our events are for the general public so we’re a consumer event – accessible for all. It’s for anyone passionate about movement, nature, and wellbeing. Whether you’re a long-distance runner, an outdoor gear junkie, a first-time 5K runner, or someone who just loves being outside—there’s something for you. It’s a great platform for brands to reach a wider audience of families, couples, individuals who are looking to purchase new gear and find inspiration for their next adventure.
Q4: What kind of events and experiences can visitors expect in March?
Stephen: There will be shake-out runs, live gear demos and reviews, training workshops and inspirational speaker sessions with industry leaders and athletes. There are bushcraft workshops, trail running workshops, yoga and wellness sessions, nutrition and hydration samples and lots of competitions. Within the expo, there is always a lot of swag to grab and competitions to enter with a chance to win big prizes. The speaker line-up is always a huge draw for visitors, fireside chats with legends of the running and outdoor industry plus panel discussions plus there is an opportunity for visitors to meet and greet the VIP guests.
Q5: Is this just a Boston-based event, or is there a broader reach?
Stephen: While the main expo is held at Gillette Stadium, Foxborough MA, the expo has national and even international reach. We welcome international exhibitors to showcase their products, and the events will draw visitors from the whole of New England.
Q6: What does success look like for this year’s events?
Stephen: If people walk away feeling energized and more connected—that’s a win. For us, its about building community and sharing inspiration with a wide audience. We know that runners will discover new recovery tools, families finding their next adventure activity, and brands forming partnerships they wouldn’t have elsewhere.
Q7: How can individuals and businesses get involved now?
Stephen: Visit our website to sign up for the newsletter or inquire about exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities. We’re also looking for volunteers and community leaders who want to contribute to programming. This is a growing community, and there’s room for all.
