28–29 Mar 2026 255 days to go! #BostonRunAndOutdoor

Trail runners & experts come together at TrailCon

Last week, The Boston Run and Outdoor (BRO) Expo team proudly exhibited at TrailCon 2025 in Palisades Tahoe, North America’s premier trail-running conference. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow industry leaders, athletes, media, and enthusiasts, all gathered to explore the latest in trail gear, trends, and innovation.

From lively discussions on the future of trail running to trail runs across the stunning Broken Arrow and Western States terrain, our team soaked up invaluable insights while strengthening partnerships across the community. Being part of such a dynamic, forward-thinking event reinforces our commitment to championing the trail and outdoor space—and we can’t wait to bring that energy to our own upcoming shows in 2026!

Here’s a run-down of Florie’s (Content Producer for BRO Expo) time at TrailCon:

Day 1: Kicking Off with a Climb

There’s no better way to start a trail running event than with an actual mountain—and that’s exactly what we did. Bright and early, we laced up the new On CloudUltra Pros for a sponsored run straight up to the Escarpment. The climb was brutal, but the reward? Coffee, pastries, a DJ spinning at the summit, and panoramic views that made every step worth it. The highlight, though, was the gondola ride back down. With a DJ onboard and the post-run buzz still coursing through us, the energy was absolutely unreal.

After descending, we headed to the Olympic Village Event Centre to support the TrailCon team. Ryan and I handed out merch before diving into a stacked schedule of talks and panels. From innovation in trail gear to the most influential races around the globe, the conversations were both inspiring and insightful. Athletes like Jim Walmsley, Hillary Allen, and Hayden Hawks offered their perspectives on what’s next for the sport.

The day wrapped up with a creative twist: On hosted an “aid station” themed Happy Hour, complete with food and drink stations designed to simulate trail refuelling stops—minus the dehydration and sore feet. A fun and fitting end to a packed day.

Day 2: Booths, Dashes & Big Names

We opted out of the morning trail run (no judgment, please) to set up the Raccoon booth, which had prime placement right next to the stage. This meant we had a front-row seat to more great panels while chatting with fellow brands and visitors throughout the day.

Things took an unexpected turn when Precision Fuel & Hydration announced a 100m dash—conveniently right in front of our booth. Before I knew it, I was lining up next to ultra runners and track stars, rocking my not-so-aerodynamic jean shorts. Despite the raised eyebrows, I powered through and placed 4th, helped along by the roar of the crowd.

The event closed on a high with the first-ever Nike ACG TrailCon Awards, honouring legends like Courtney DeWaulter, Kilian Jornet, and Jasmin Paris. It was a powerful and emotional moment to see six industry pioneers inducted into the TrailCon Hall of Fame—proof that trail running isn’t just a sport, it’s a movement.
